Lit Fox Poetry Residency

 
We’re excited to offer a five-day poetry residency in Austin, TX! This residency takes place in a two bedroom house (+1 or +2 are welcome) within walking distance of Lady Bird Lake and restaurants. 
 
The residency will begin on July 7th, 2025 and end on July 11th, 2025. There is no submission fee and there’s no fee to attend.

  • Feedback on your work from Jose Hernandez Diaz
  • An interview with Lit Fox Books
  • A copy of an upcoming Lit Fox Books release
  • A $200 food stipend
 

Jose Hernandez Diaz is a 2017 NEA Fellow. He is the author of The Fire Eater (Texas Review Press, 2020) Bad Mexican, Bad American (Acre Books, 2024) The Parachutist (Sundress Publications, 2025) and Portrait of the Artist as a Brown Man (Red Hen Press, 2025). He has been published in Bennington Review, The Yale Review, The London Magazine, The Southern Review, Poetry Ireland Review, The Best American Nonrequired Reading 2011, and in The Best American Poetry 2025. He has taught creative writing at the University of California at Riverside. Currently, he is the Visiting Writer in Residence at the University of Tennessee.

 
The selected poet is welcome to enjoy the residency privately or bring one or two guests. Please note that Lit Fox Books is unable to cover travel expenses at this time.
